About Bucks Thyroid & Endocrine Care
Bucks Thyroid & Endocrine Care (BTEC) is a small endocrinology practice started by Dr. Achilles Paparsenos, a board-certified endocrinologist. Our entire staff’s greatest focus is your experience. This starts from the time you make an appointment and continues to the comfort of our office environment. Bucks Transgender Care is a very special part of BTEC, and we are so proud to serve our transgender community. We do not provide surgical or cosmetic services, only medical hormonal treatments. We accept almost all health insurance plans, and we are dedicated to making our services accessible to the entire transgender community.
Achilles Paparsenos, M.D.
Dr. Paparsenos grew up in New Jersey, the son of an immigrant father from Greece. He received his Medical Degree at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He later went to New York City where he did his Internal Medicine residency at Beth Israel Medical Center and later his Endocrinology fellowship at St. Vincent Hospital. Afterward he and his wife Jennifer moved to Bucks County. They have two daughters. Dr. Paparsenos practiced Endocrinology in the Philadelphia area for over 8 years before he founded Bucks Thyroid & Endocrine Care here in Yardley.
He has treated transgender patients throughout his career, but since starting BTEC he has worked to expand the practice, because here he and his staff have been able to foster an environment that is truly dedicated to the transgender community.
Dr. Paparsenos stays abreast of the latest research and guidelines in transgender care. Acknowledging the current limitations of this literature in transgender care, however, he has maintained an open-minded approach, which he finds has been crucial to the development of his practice. He is especially interested in getting to know his patients and tailoring their hormone regimen according to the preferences and medical history of each individual patient, while making sure that each patient is safe.
